As well as that, more general retailers like Amazon, Best Buy, Target, and Walmart are likely to cut prices on a wide range of products including own branded furniture and some stylish branded names too. Whether you’re looking for a new sofa or loveseat, or for some new home office furniture, there’s likely to be an offer on here.
Garden and outdoor furniture should also be discounted but it’s worth bearing in mind that these will be in high demand given the time of year so you’ll need to be quick.
Keep an eye on retailers like Home Depot, Lowe’s, and Wayfair for the best offers here.
What Memorial Day furniture sales and deals we saw last year
Memorial Day 2020 had a little bit of everything on offer. We saw Wayfair have up to 70% on much of its Memorial Day furniture sales along with companies like Lowe’s reducing patio furniture and outdoor decor by up to 30%.
Target also heavily reduced everything possible including patio sets, indoor furniture, and kitchen appliances, by up to 25%. Overstock also got in on the action with up to 20% off select mattresses and the same discount for patio furniture.
Whether you wanted branded items or a bargain, there were big discounts going on during the Memorial Day furniture sales.
Should you buy new furniture on Memorial Day?
Any sales season is a good time to consider a new purchase but only if you actually need the item in question. It’s easy to be lured into snapping up items simply because they’re discounted. Memorial Day furniture sales are good but only if you know what to look for.
Think about what your home needs. Does it need a new coffee table to truly make your living space look beautiful? Or maybe a new comfy couch to laze on in the evenings? Know what you need and prioritize them.
As always, stick to your budget. If you can’t afford the item, it won’t be good value for you and you’ll regret it. Similarly, do your research. If the item on offer is an unfamiliar brand, check that it’s a reliable piece of furniture. Don’t buy something that has poor reviews for falling apart, for instance.
With many items on sale during Memorial Day, not every price cut is going to be a bargain. Some are more incremental than the deal of the century so it’s vital you know a little about how genuine the saving is. Play it smart and don’t rush into anything simply because there’s a countdown timer trying to lure you into hitting the buy button.
